How to Get Rid of Blind Pimples?

Blind pimples are pesky, under the skin, cystic acne, that are more times than not ginormous, and incredibly painful. But the age old question is how to get rid of these monstrous beasts without tearing your face open and having it be a gaping hole for the next week - which would be very inconvenient when they appear just a few days before your school formal, or that upcoming first date. But lucky for you, we are going to explain, how to get rid of it ASAP!

Keep reading to find out how to stop blind pimples from ruling your world!

Cystic acne is a pimple that occurs deeper in your skin, layers beneath the surface. Because of this, it has no head, which makes extracting the pimple incredibly difficult. Due to the pimple being so deep, it is closer to the nerve ending and can easily become very inflamed, hence the excruciating pain that comes with one!

How to get rid of blind pimple?

1. DO NOT PICK IT. It’s tempting; believe me I’ve been there. But all this will achieve is the gaping hole syndrome that I mentioned previously. If you can get pass this stage, you’re already doing great!

2. A blind pimple is large and sore because it is inflamed. This means you need to start with anti-inflammatory techniques to try and get the swelling down. Grab an ice cube (not directly on the skin, use a paper towel) and ice that bad boy! If you do this for 5 minutes on 10 off a couple of times you should start to notice the swelling go down already!

3. Have a shower. Fill a bowel with boiling water, or, if you’re extra enough, use a face steamer, the steam will assist with drawing the blind pimple to the surface, which will make you ready for step 4!

4. Add a topical acne treatment before bed that will further help your new friend make it to the surface. My favourites for this are the Kate Sommerville Eradikate Acne Treatment and the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion.

5.Extract and Remove. Hopefully by this stage you will awaken from your beauty sleep to a small, white head at the tip of your painful pimple. Now it’s time to carefully extract and remove the bacteria, sebum and any other dirt that was causing the blind pimple.

Ahh, feel better yet?

Step 6: To stop scarring and infection, apply tea tree oil to the wound and leave it alone! If you keep playing with it you risk turning it into a scar, so just let the healing process do itself!

Try: The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil or Naturenics Tea Tree Essential Oil

A few days later and it will be like your mammoth blind pimple never even existed!
