How to prevent hereditary hair fall?

Hereditary-pattern baldness is the most common cause of hair loss. Researchers have begun to understand more about the cause of this type of hair loss. Under the influence of a form of the male hormone testosterone, the normal cycle of hair growth changes, resulting in shorter, thinner or "miniaturized" hair. Eventually, hair growth in certain parts of the scalp stops entirely, which causes the typical pattern of hair loss.

Contrary to the folk wisdom that baldness is inherited from one's mother's family, the condition seems to depend on genes contributed by both parents.

Solutions for hereditary hair loss:

Minoxidil

Minoxidil is an over-the-counter drug approved by the FDA for stimulating new hair growth and preventing further hair loss in cases of hereditary balding. Minoxidil is rubbed into the scalp twice a day.

Finasteride (Prescription Propecia)

Another FDA-approved treatment is the drug finasteride (sold as Propecia). Finasteride, a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound, inhibits the enzyme type one 5 alpha reductase which converts testosterone in men to DHT. DHT in turn shrinks the hair follicle until it no longer produces visible hair. In short, Propecia works to inhibit the formation of the DHT hormone that weakens hair and halts its growth, thereby reducing further hair loss.

Some Herbal Solution for hereditary hair loss are:

Take B-Complex – Vitamins:

B vitamins have a wide range of benefits in the body. One in particular (B3) increases blood flow to the scalp. Taking a b-complex can ensure you are getting enough of them all.

Increase Vitamin A:

Vitamin A is crucial to healthy hair because it “works with the fat synthesis.” Food products rich in vitamin A include leafy greens like kale, carrots, and eggs.

Herbs:

When looking for natural remedies for hair loss, herbs are among the most sought out solutions. Lavender, rosemary, and thyme have been shown to help hair growth and prevent thinning or balding

Aromatherapy:

Using essential oils like lavender, ginger, rosemary, and fenugreek for a scalp massage can also help with hair loss. 2 drops of essential oil can be blended with 15ml (1 tablespoon) of carrier oil, like jojoba.
